Erie’s overall satisfaction score rose by 10 points – now 30 points above the industry average – taking the company up from third place in 2017.
“Being there when our customers need us the most and following our motto to be ‘Above all in Service’ is what helps us continue to grow and earn our reputation for quality insurance and superior claims service,” said Tim NeCastro, president and CEO of Erie Insurance. “We’re honored to receive this distinction.”
The 2018 U.S. Auto Claims Satisfaction Study is based on responses from more than 10,000 auto insurance customers who settled a claim within the past six months prior to the survey. The study excludes claimants whose vehicle incurred only glass/windshield damage or was stolen, or who only filed a roadside assistance claim.
“When a policyholder has a claim, that is when our agency has to be there for them and when we earn their trust,” said Mark Dorton, co-owner of Valley Trust Insurance based in Staunton. “Knowing Erie is number one in claims satisfaction takes away any worry about how are clients are treated by the insurance company.
“We’ve know about Erie’s excellent claim service for years,” he continued. “It’s nice to know that the public recognizes this as well by voting Erie number one.”
Erie Insurance started with humble beginnings in 1925 with a mission to emphasize customer service above all else. Though Erie has grown to reach the Fortune 500 list, they pride themselves on the fact that they still haven’t lost the human touch.
